The Postal Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising mailroom activities, postal operations and personnel to provide support for contract performance.
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise postal operations and mailroom personnel at local and satellite post offices
Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed to ensure efficient customer financial and mailing services are met
Submit postal offense and incident reports on occurrence in accordance to regulatory requirements in a timely manner
Supervise the Money Order Business (MOB) to ensure timely requisitioning and prevent over stockade of USPS Blank Money Order
Supervise the accurate utilization of postal meters, cash boxes, safes and/or vaults
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and postal regulations
Assist the postal manager in submitting service orders to ensure the maintenance, repair, and operations of all assigned postal facilities to ensure compliance with postal regulations
Maintain an open line of communication with the postal manager regarding mailroom operations performance, business matters, and suggestions to improve the accomplishment of company and customer objectives
Submit a monthly work schedule to the postal manager for approval
Act as the postal manager in his/her absence
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge and experience of US Postal metering machines and procedures, domestic and international postal and customs practices
Ability to receive and secure classified/registered mail by adhering government/military regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Access, Word)
Ability to partner with others, provide outstanding customer service, maintain quality standards and customer satisfaction
Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to acquire a Secret Clearance
Experience & Education
High school degree or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in DOD and/or civilian operations to include a minimum of one (1) year experience in mail operations
One (1) year in an international shipping environment preferred.
Additional experience/education may be required by assignment or contract
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Work is in office environment.
Walking and standing for long periods to include lifting and carrying materials up to seventy (70) pounds.
Some position will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
