Job Summary

Under general supervision, the MWR – Beautician/Barber coordinates activities required to operate Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

• Plans, and assigns work of host country national attendants in MWR facilities
• Provide management assistance
• Inspect hair, face, and scalp, to recommend treatment for both male and female clients
• Cut, dry, and style hair
• Maintain supplies by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing orders; verifying receipt.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Willing to travel to alternate site locations to provide services weekly
• Familiarity with electronic trimmers/ edgers/ clippers, blow-dryers, curl or straightening irons, combs, brushes, scissors, rollers, shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, bleach, chemical hair relaxer, hair coloring, styling gel/setting lotion, sheen spray, and hair pressing oil.
• Inspect products for proper storage and handling in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain sanitization and hygienic workspace after each client
• Execute fees collected and profit
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

• CPR and first aid certification is preferred
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid barber/stylist license
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
