Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator IV supervises work of assigned concrete crew (5-10 finishers, helpers and/or laborers) and is responsible for the overall successful completion of all carpentry jobs assigned.

 

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Reads and interprets instructions/documentation and plans work activities
  • Obtains all service work orders from assigned supervisor
  • Reviews all service orders and ensures they are completed on time, staffed properly and the quality of work meets approved standards
  • Maintains database of all Concrete activities his crew performs
  • Ensures the DCP Concrete SOP is strictly adhered to
  • Assigns work to his concrete crew
  • Reviews all concrete related estimates for new work and service work assigned to his crew
  • Responsible for the safety training and compliance of Concrete Crew
  • Ensures tools are constantly kept in a safe operational condition
  • Oversees housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas and shop
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience required in concrete framing/forming, pouring, and finishing
  • Ability to read design drawings and specifications
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Computer literate in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education

  • Five (5) years’ experience working with concrete; minimum two (2) years of Foreman level experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
