The Database Administrator maintains database and platform requirements for Food Service Operation.
Principal Accountabilities
Maintain customer database and platform requirements related to AFMIS, NIPR and STORES
Follow standards and schedules for database maintenance. Ensure that database and platform schedules meet operational requirements
Monitor and check database user access and security
Prioritize assignments and work to resolve issues based on understanding of business needs
Provide statistical data and reports for trend analysis
Recommends cost controls while working within the parameters of AFMIS
Detect false match and false non-matches accurately
Provides information and reports as related to account status, inventory management, class 1 ordering, and food storage to the Project Food Service Manager and DFAC Managers to ensure facilitation of a strong supply chain as dictated by AFMIS and the associated USG regulations
Train internal customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Prefer knowledge of DOD Anti-terrorism/Force Protection requirements
Efficient in operation and understanding of AFMIS database
Highly efficient in Microsoft Office software
Strong prioritization skills requiring little supervision for multiple tasks assigned
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment
Experience & Education
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in database administration
Prefer Bachelor Degree in information technology or associated discipline
For overseas assignments, prefer previous experience in deployed environment
Prefer previous experience with AFMIS
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment
Must be able to meet the medical deployment requirements IAW CENTCOM MOD 15
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to lift 30 pounds
CONUS:
Generally, works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions
OCONUS:
Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
Qualifications
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
