The Communications and Electronics (C&E) Technician Senior maintains and repairs electronics such as radios, digital voice recorders, communications switches, touch screen displays, airfield lighting systems, navigational aids, or landing systems.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Perform installation and adjustments of communication or navigation aid systems
Inspect wireless radio/satellite communications activities, troubleshoot issues, and determine equipment operational status
Test, align, and adjust equipment; replace and repair faulty components, and requisition materials as needed
Maintain equipment maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists, and technical manuals; Establish maintenance requirements for support equipment, tools and spare parts needed to support repair effort
Provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel
Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with test standards
Consult layout drawings to ensure equipment is properly positioned
Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must speak and understand English in order to coordinate movement on ramp via two-way radios
Knowledgeable in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing airfield lighting, communications, and navigational equipment
Ability to translate communication needs of employees/customers not versed in computer terminology into meaningful solutions for both hardware and software
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Prefer knowledge of electronic material requisition system such as DynMRO
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment
Experience & Education
Minimum three (3) years of experience in electronics, communications, or similar field to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airfield lighting, communications, navigational equipment, and meteorological systems
Prefer experience using, supporting, and troubleshooting a Contract Management System (CMS)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prefer Associate Degree in electronics, communications technician, or associated discipline
Prefer military MOS 94D or equivalent training
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment
Must be able to meet the medical deployment requirements IAW CENTCOM MOD 15
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Qualifications
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
