The Accounting and Finance Manager Sr manages general accounting and finance functions for assigned program or business unit. Oversees the development, implementation, and administration of financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.
Principal Accountabilities

Manage activities of general accounting functions
Oversee the financial analysis of budgets and schedules for assigned area
Interpret and formulate financial methods and procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and contract requirements
Manage the planning and controlling of financial analysis activities to ensure uniform reporting and analysis
Develop and administer cost accounting and financial management systems
Manage the staff auditing incurred costs to ensure costs are properly recorded
Responsible for the success of month-end close, contract invoicing, financial analysis projects and statistical studies
Formulate and administer financial projections and preparation of cash flow forecast to ensure financial and operating reports accurately reflect business conditions
Coordinate, negotiate, and resolve financial compliance issues with various government agencies to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements
Manage staff, which includes making employment decisions, reviewing employee performance, addressing escalated issues, generating assignments, and setting priorities
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of accounting that includes spreadsheets, financial analysis, and other data processing techniques
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze information, identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, evaluate results, and choose the best solution
Working knowledge of US Government accounting practices
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and Internal Audit
Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Ten (10) years’ experience in accounting or finance; three (3) years in managerial position
Three (3) years’ experience in government finance preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
CONUS:
Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions
OCONUS:
Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
